A mind is a terrible thing to waste, yet back in the mid-’70’s, I, personally, witnessed, the waste of countless of brilliant minds at UMCP. This was before CMSE and BES were formulated. We decided that we needed to do something to stop the wasteful trend, so we founded CMSE and BES to help to achieve the 3R’s, recruit, retain and release qualified minorities from the University of Maryland, into the fields of science and engineering. Over the past 40 years, I have witnessed many academic and career success stories of minority graduates from UMCP, and I am committed to helping this trend continue. I believe that the achievement of the 3 R’s remains an important goal at UMCP, the CMSE, and the BES and I am looking for others who share my vision.

Achievements:
Before becoming the Technical Center Director, Greg served as the manager of the FAA Program Management Organization’s (PMO) Air Traffic Management Programs Group. He served in various technical and leadership positions in the FAA over a 27-year career there. He was responsible for managing the modernization of FAA’s En-route and Terminal Automation systems to enable the FAA to seamlessly transition to the Next Generation Air Transportation System (NextGen). He also served as the senior FAA representative to Mediterranean Europe, the Balkans, and the Middle East, while stationed at the U.S. Embassy in Rome, Italy; the former U.S. member of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) All-Weather Operations Panel; the former U.S. member of the ICAO Testing of Radio Navigation Aids Study Group; and the former program manager of the ICAO Aeronautical Surveillance Panel (ASP), while working at ICAO in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
