NASA Astronaut Stephanie Wilson speaks about the astronaut selection and training process
Join on Wednesday, October 8th, 2003 at 5 p.m. in 1202 Martin Hall to hear Stephanie Wilson, a NASA astronaut speak about the Astronaut selection and training process.
Selected by NASA in April 1996, Wilson reported to the Johnson Space Center in August 1996. Having completed two years of training and evaluation she is qualified for flight assignment as a mission specialist.
Wilson was initially assigned technical duties in the Astronaut Office Space Station Operations Branch, but more recently, she serves in the Astronaut Office CAPCOM Branch, working in Mission Control as prime communicator with on-orbit crews. Wilson is assigned to the crew of STS-120.
Wilson is a 1988 graduate of Harvard University with a bachelor's degree in engineering science, and in 1992, she received her Master of Science in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Texas.
