Board Member Named Black Engineer of the Year
Clark School Board of Visitors member Linda Gooden, president and CEO of Lockheed Martin Information Technology, has been named Black Engineer of the Year for 2006.
Dr. Gooden will receive the honor at the Baltimore Convention Center on February 18, 2006, at an awards ceremony dubbed "the 'Oscars' of blacks in technology" by BlackEngineer.com. Dr. Gooden will be the third woman to receive this prestigious award.
Hosted by US Black Engineer & Information Technology magazine, the Council of Engineering Deans of the Historically Black Colleges and Universities, and Lockheed Martin Corporation, this national event brings together students, college administrators, recruiters, engineering and IT professionals, scientists and high-level decision-makers from the corporate, government and academic communities in an effort to broaden diversity in America's technical and scientific work forces.
Earlier this year, Dr. Gooden was honored as Executive of the Year by the Tech Council of Maryland.
