If you are interested in conducting student-led research within the field of synthetic biology and genetic engineering, then consider joining the UMaryland iGEM team! iGEM is the international genetically engineered machine competition. At Maryland, our team consists of students with varying majors, experience levels, and backgrounds. It is a great experience to gain knowledge of the research process, fundraising, outreach, website development, grant writing, and more!
If you are interested to join, please fill out this survey: https://ter.ps/iGEM23 (use your terpmail). We will be having two interest meetings on Monday February 27th at 7 pm in 1107 Kim Engineering Building and Thursday, March 2nd in 1101 A. James Clark Hall. You only have to attend one and we will be going into detail about how iGEM works here at Maryland and the different ways to get involved! Please come out if you are even the slightest bit interested- you do not have to do wet lab research to be a part of the team!
