Hicks, Shi Win Best Paper Award at ASPLOS 2015
Mike Hicks and Elaine Shi, both members of the Maryland Cybersecurity Center (MC2) and UMIACS, won the Best Paper Award at the 20th International Conference on Architectural Support for Programming Languages and Operating Systems (ASPLOS).
Hicks and Shi were recognized for their paper “GhostRider: A Hardware-Software System for Memory Trace Oblivious Computation,” which they co-authored with four other researchers. The first author on the paper, Chang Liu, is a graduate student in MC2.
ASPLOS, held March 14 – 18 in Istanbul, is the premier forum for multidisciplinary systems research spanning computer architecture and hardware, programming languages and compilers, operating systems and networking, as well as applications and user interfaces.
