Published October 23, 2019
Michel Cukier, an associate professor of reliability engineering who is director of the Advanced Cybersecurity Experience for Students (ACES) undergraduate Honors College program, has been appointed to the Maryland Cybersecurity Council.
The Council was created by the Maryland General Assembly in 2015 and is charged with reviewing the state’s cyber readiness and developing a comprehensive plan to respond to and recover from attacks.
The group facilitates coordination between federal and state cyber-protection efforts and is tasked with making sure that Maryland has fully identified risks to critical infrastructure and gaps in state law.
“Given your experience and/or interest in cybersecurity and commitment to protecting Maryland consumers from cyber threats, it is my pleasure to appoint you to the Council,” says Maryland Attorney General Brian E. Frosh in a letter to Cukier.
Cukier has an affiliate appointment in the University of Maryland Institute for Advanced Computer Studies and is active in the Maryland Cybersecurity Center.
