Enter the U21/PwC Innovation Challenge

University of Maryland is delighted to announce our participation in the U21/PwC Innovation Challenge. Universitas 21 (U21) and PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) are two globally-focused organizations who have come together to offer exclusive professional development opportunities for U21’s graduate students through the Innovation Challenge. This year, three students will win an expenses-paid 7-day trip to Dubai courtesy of PwC. They will have a chance to explore the city, and to see some of the innovative projects taking place there.

The University of Maryland can submit four nominees. The Graduate school will hold a campus competition on November 13, 2019, at 2:00 pm in the Maryland Room in Marie Mount Hall. We will select four students to advance to the global U21/PwC Innovation Challenge that will take place in February.

The question for the 2019-2020 U21/PwC Innovation Challenge is as follows:

We invite master’s and doctoral students to prepare a three-minute response to this prompt:

How can universities help individuals gain a broader perspective on the long-term impact and consequences of their day-to-day actions on people, society and the environment? What types of jobs will an environmentally-sensitive economy need, and what is the best way to prepare students for them?

One slide may be used. This three-minute response will be presented live to a panel on November 13th. Recordings cannot be submitted.

Four campus winners will receive professional coaching and the production of their three-minute video for the international competition.
