    This week marked the spring term's Campus Celebration of Doctoral Graduates Luncheon. Designed to recognize doctoral graduates across all disciplines, the event also includes advisors, mentors, families, and guests. This spring, over 70 doctoral conferees attended, along with ten deans, and associate deans representing many of the colleges, and schools across the graduate campus.

  • Doctoral Candidate Pravrutha Raman Wins UMD Three Minute Thesis Contest

    Pravrutha Raman, a doctoral candidate in the Biological Sciences Program, has been named winner of the fifth annual University of Maryland Three Minute Thesis competition, held April 4 during Graduate Research Appreciation Day (GRAD) at the University of Maryland campus. In the Three Minute Thesis contest, created by the University of Queensland (Australia), competitors explain their research and its impact to an educated lay audience in just three minutes.

  • Tax Preparation Assistance Program for Graduate Students Opens March 28

    The Graduate School again will provide in-person income-tax preparation, formerly the Tax Assistance Program (TAP) services for graduate students at the University of Maryland, College Park.  In-person income-tax preparation assistance will be provided to graduate students between the end of March to mid-April in Room #5101F McKeldin (this is the Graduate Student Lounge on the 5th floor). In-person income-tax preparation assistance through TPAP is meant to help guide students through Glacier Tax Prep:

    The American College Personnel Association (ACPA) recently recognized Dr. Kimberly Griffin as its 2018 Outstanding Mentor to Graduate Students.
