Prescription Safety Glasses
Prescription safety glasses are available to FM staff from Brewer & Marshall Opticians.
Instructions for Requesting Prescription Safety Glasses
Before requesting prescription safety glasses, you must have a print copy of your current prescription.
Complete the Request For Prescription Safety Glasses form (English or Spanish) and submit it to Imani Sisco (isisco@umd.edu). Once your request has been approved, it will be signed and returned to you. (Note: Do not include your prescription with your request form.)
Once you have your approved/signed request, contact Brewer & Marshall to schedule an appointment. Take the signed Request Form and your prescription to Brewer & Marshall to be fitted for your prescription safety glasses.
Brewer & Marshall Opticians will contact you when your safety glasses are ready for pickup.
Requirements for Safety Glasses
Glasses must meet ANSI/ISEA Z87.1 safety standards:

- Safety frames must be marked with the size and the manufacturer’s trademarks and “ANSI/ISEA Z87.1”
