The University of Maryland's A. James Clark School of Engineering offers a B.S. in Electrical Engineering (EE) program to students in the Southern Maryland region. The program is ideal for students who have completed an Associate's of Science in Engineering (ASE) degree in Electrical Engineering at the College of Southern Maryland.
The new Southern Maryland Autonomous Research and Technology (SMART) building at USMSM provides students with unique learning opportunities. Not only is the building LEED certified for minimizing its impact on the environment, it also offers many high-end labs and work spaces to ensure that students get the hands-on experience that will contribute to their success in the Electrical Engineering major.
LEARN FROM FACULTY WITH HANDS-ON EXPERIENCE
Electrical Engineering courses at the USM-SM campus are taught by faculty members from the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering, as well as experienced part-time faculty members with strong connections to the Patuxtent River Naval Air Station.

You are encouraged to pursue valuable hands-on experience by applying to a competitive vacancy job announcement at NAWC-AD, which has developed an academic partnership with the University of Maryland to provide students with hands-on experience in conjunction with their academic studies. The NAWC-AD program may offer tuition and provides employment during the summers and holidays.

Students interested in the Electrical Engineering program at Southern Maryland the program must apply to the University of Maryland by the fall transfer admissions priority deadline of March 1st.

The Electrical Engineering program at Southern Maryland offers transfer students the opportunity to finish their junior and senior year coursework. The program assumes that transfer students have completed their lower level major requirements and General Education courses through their ASE-Electrical Engineering degree from the College of Southern Maryand (or any Maryland public community college where the ASE-EE degree is offered). The course offerings for the program vary with the majority of the courses offered on-site, a few courses streamed live from College Park, and a handful of online courses.
