The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering established a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) committee in December 2020, consisting of volunteer faculty, staff, and student members. The committee meets once a month to have open discussions about DEI efforts across the department. In addition, committee sub-groups were formed to focus on key areas such as Staff/Faculty Relations, Events and Training, Research and Career Mentoring, Recruitment, Equity in Teaching, DEI Policies, and Website and Resources and meet on a regular basis to further initiatives.
The committee aims to foster important conversations across the department and amplify the voices of underrepresented students, faculty, staff, and alumni.
