CEE Alum Dr. Emin Kutay Joins the Michigan State University as a Faculty Member
Dr. Emin Kutay has joined the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department of the Michigan State University as a tenure-track Assistant Professor. Dr. Kutay has received a M.S. (2002) and Ph.D. (2005) from the University of Maryland's Civil and Environmental Engineering Department. His advisor was Dr. Ahmet Aydilek.
Most recently, Dr. M. Emin Kutay served as the Asphalt Mixture Scientist/Laboratory Manager at the Turner-Fairbank Highway Research Center (TFHRC) in Virginia. His research interests include image analysis and processing, X-ray Computed Tomography, analytical and numerical modeling techniques in pavement and geotechnical engineering, computational fluid dynamics and geosynthetics.
Dr. Kutay's contributions to pavement engineering have been recognized
through several awards including the ASCE Collingwood Prize (2007), AASHTO National Competition Award for Transportation Professionalism (2007), and the FHWA Dwight David Eisenhower Graduate Research Fellowship (2003).
