McKeldin Mall buzzed with students like honey bees around a hive during the annual First Look Fair on Friday—thank goodness the Beekeeping Club was on site. From academic societies to niche interest groups, hundreds of University of Maryland campus organizations tabled at the event, using both props and people to make their best pitches for new members.

Terps Racing traded its standard table for three handmade race cars, while the Terrapin Rocket Team flaunted its award-winning 13-foot rocket. The Club Sailing Team meanwhile seemed ready to cast anchors aweigh in the ODK Fountain with its UMD-emblazoned sailboat. The Terp Lions’ 8-foot Chinese Lion snaked between Boxing Club matches and rings, balls and bowling pins tossed in the air by the Juggling Club. Even Fart Club joined in on the fun.

If you missed your first look, see the photos below—and plan to attend the Second Look Fair at the Stamp Student Union in the spring.
