What is Lucidchart?
Lucidchart is a Web-based diagramming application that allows customers to collaborate and work together in real time to create flowcharts, organizational charts, website wireframes, Unified Modeling Language (UML) designs, mind maps, software prototypes, and many other types of diagrams.
Am I eligible to use Lucidchart?
Current University of Maryland, College Park campus students, faculty, and staff are all eligible to use the free version of Lucidchart. To use Lucidchart at the University of Maryland, College Park, you will need:
- University credentials.
- Access to a computer with a Web browser.
How do I activate a Lucidchart account?
You can activate your Lucidchart account by going to http://lucidchart.umd.edu and logging into the University of Maryland Central Authentication Service with University credentials.
How can I access Lucidchart?
Once you activate your Lucidchart account, you will be able to access Lucidchart through any Web browser on any computer by going to http://lucidchart.umd.edu and logging into the University of Maryland Central Authentication Service with a University credentials .
How long do I keep my Lucidchart account?
You may keep your Lucidchart account as long as you are a current student, faculty member, or staff member at the University of Maryland, College Park. If you purchase a Premium LucidChart account you will be charged a yearly renewal for the duration of your usage.

Can I use the Lucidchart iPad app with my University account?
Lucidchart's iPad app does not currently support Single Sign On (SSO). Because of the University of Maryland's security requirements, students and faculty cannot use the Lucidchart iPad app at this time. Lucidchart is planning on adding SSO support to the iPad this year.
Is there a cost for Lucidchart accounts?
You have access to a free version of LucidChart using your University credentials. If you would like to purchase a premium version of LucidChart, you may do so by visiting the Terpware site.
What features does my university-sponsored Lucidchart account offer?
Your Premium Lucidchart account comes with the same feature set as a Lucidchart Professional license. This includes:
- 1 gigabyte (GB) free personal storage.
- Extensive shape libraries (floor plans, UML/ERD, BPMN 2.0, mind-mapping, org charts, flow-charting, value stream mapping, and much more).
- Microsoft Visio import and export.
- Full document revision history.
- Secure publishing.
- Customer support from Lucidchart.

Does Lucidchart offer online storage space? How much?
Yes. Lucidchart offers 1 gigabyte (GB) of online storage space, along with the ability to back up the contents of your Lucidchart account to either your local machine or to a Google Drive account. Will I be able to save Lucidchart files to my personal computer or storage device?
