The CUIE Service Level Agreement requires that use of the system be renewed on a regular basis by the primary owner of the project. At the beginning of your project term, expectations are set regarding the retention of your project data at project closeout.
At the end of your project term, you should choose not to renew the project, and the Research Computing team will take action to carry out appropriate project closeout procedures. In addition, if you fail to respond to any communications about continuing your project, the project closeout procedure will begin.
The closeout process typically involves deactivating team member accounts and shutting down virtual machines. In some cases, this is followed by a short waiting period before data and accounts are removed from the system. If your research agreement or sponsor requires data to be retained after the conclusion of the project, accounts and data drives will be maintained but access removed until requested by ORA for administrative purposes, or until the end of the required data retention period for your project.
If you have any questions, please submit them to the Research Computing team through the CUIE Hosting portal.
