You may be unable to open a link in an email message sent to your UMD email account if the link contains a blacklisted web address, or URL (Uniform Resource Locator).
Certain URLs may be blacklisted, or filtered, by Cisco's IronPort email security software as part of the university's efforts to protect your UMD email accounts and messages. When a URL is is blacklisted, it is identified as unsafe, and UMD email accountholders will be unable to open the link.
If you believe a reputable URL has been improperly blacklisted, contact the Service Desk. An agent will work with you to add the reputable URL to the IronPort whitelist, which marks reputable URLs as safe to open.
