Campus Cable TV (Academic and Administrative Buildings)
In order to provide Cable TV to academic and administrative buildings on campus, DIT maintains a campus headend (control center) located at Hornbake Library. Support of the campus cable TV system includes:
- Monitoring of the 105 channels that are broadcasted across campus.
- Making appropriate repairs to channels that become inoperable.
- Contacting our cable provider when issues are not specific to our campus.
- Assisting customers with the cable TV system and programming TV's.
Requests for new service or issues should be submitted through the DIT Service Desk.
NOTE: Cable TV in dorms is provided by a separate vendor and is a separate service. For information see https://drf.umd.edu/resident-resources/amenities.
If a location does not currently have a physical cable TV connection, there will be charges for installing cable and any necessary jacks.
