Tableau is an interactive data visualization platform provided by Division of IT for distributing reports created by functional service units (Institutional Research Planning & Assessment, Human Resources, Office of Research Administration, Office of the Registrar, Student Financial Aid, etc.), and Colleges & Schools.  The Tableau platform consists of desktop clients (Tableau Desktop) to create and publish reports, and Tableau Server for report distribution accessible via a web browser.

Report creators/authors must purchase Tableau Desktop to create reports and obtain approved authorized access to distribute reports to Tableau Server.

Report consumers can access Tableau reports via a web-browser after obtaining approved authorized access for the appropriate reports and underlying data.
