Issue
I'm traveling overseas and attempting to access Microsoft 365 (Office) but I'm receiving a Your account is blocked. We've detected suspicious activity on your account. Sorry, the organization you are trying to access restricts at-risk users. Please contact your University of Maryland admin. error when trying to activate Office or access portal.office.com.
Environment
Microsoft 365 (Office).
Resolution
- Disable any personal VPN software you're running on the device.
- Install and connect to UMD's GlobalProtect VPN and select the TunnelAll gateway.
- Attempt to sign in to Office again.
