All ELMS-Canvas course spaces start in an unpublished state. Students cannot see term-based course spaces until instructors publish the course. This action generates an invitation to access the course that is sent to the students' email of record in Testudo. Students will also see the invitation when they log into ELMS. Accepting the invitation will automatically put a student in the course space itself.

In addition, faculty can provide settings for dates between which students can participate in a course (e.g., Start date and End date). Depending on the date provided by an instructor's participation course settings, students may not be able to view the course; the course will appear under "Future Enrollments" in students' Courses list.
