BioRAFT is used by groups doing research with the University of Maryland’s Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC). Some researchers may not have a position appointment with UMD, and they will not a directory ID or affiliate account. For example, a NIST researcher might work with the UMD Department of Environmental Safety, Sustainability & Risk (ESSR) or Institute of Biosciences and Bioresources (IBBR).
